Newton Conover City Schools has adopted a Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan for all eligible employees.

A Section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan allows you, the employee, to spend benefit dollars for benefits that you choose to meet your needs.  The benefits from which you may choose are listed later in this booklet.  The benefits that you elect under the Plan are paid for with benefit dollars made available to you by your employer or through a salary reduction agreement with your employer.  Salary reduction means that you are able to use “pre-tax” dollars to pay for certain benefits that you may have previously paid for with “after-tax” dollars.

All employees of Newton Conover City Schools who normally work at least 30 hours per week who meet eligibility requirements will be able to participate in the Plan.  If you are an existing employee, you must sign an election form for the next plan year during the annual enrollment period.  New employees are eligible immediately.
