This informational website has been created to bring forth a brief overview of your benefit choices as well as offer you a reference guide when questions arise regarding your insurance plans.

Important Information for 2012/2013

Open Enrollment for the 2012/2013 Plan Year for Supplemental Benefits

  • Open enrollment will be held March 20rd – March 23rd. Representatives will be in the district to assist in the enrollment process.
  • The plan year for Hillsboro ISD is September 1 – August 31.

What’s New for 2012

  • The annual maximum for Medical Reimbursement is decreasing from $3,600 to $2,500.  This decrease is part of the Healthcare Reform Act of 2010.
  • Humana Critical Illness Insurance is a new benefit that will be offered for the 2012-2013 Plan Year.
  • The Hospital GAP plan through Assurant has been added to the benefits offering for 2012-2013 Plan Year.
  • Delta Dental will be the new dental provider for the 2012-2013 School Year. 
  • The annual contribution amount for 403(b)’s has increased to $17,000 for 2012.

Other Information for the 2012/2013 Plan Year

  • The annual maximum for Dependent Care Reimbursement is $5,000 ($416.67 per month).
  • You can access your Flexible Spending Account online. (You must setup a login/password to access your account). The Group Number for HISD is 75500.
  • All HISD employees are eligible to participate in and make contributions to a 403(b). Contact your 403(b) Account Representative or contact First Financial’s Retirement Services Department with questions regarding your account or how to setup an account.
